Brush Guide: Specialty Brushes

In the third and last part of the brush guide, we will be breaking down the specialty brushes and explain what they are do, and which breeds they are suited for.

ANDREAS SERIES

The Andreas Series is a Nylon/Boar bristle brush that comes in two sizes: medium and small. Originally when this line was released, there were three sizes, also a large. We retired the large brush as there wasn’t much need for a brush of that size. The Andreas Series brushes are great for drop coats, as the Nylon stimulates the oil glands, prompting the creation of more oil, while the boar bristles distribute the oil throughout the coat. This increases shine, and is excellent for finishing.

Breed Examples: Maltese, Afghan Hound, Yorkshire Terrier, Cocker Spaniel

The Ionic Series is jokingly, but accurately, called our “Vacuum Brushes”. Created with terrier coats in mind, the Ionic Series is a great tool for wire, smooth and any coat with short hair.
